SMARA Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order by President Mike KB2VQS, present were James N2UZQ, Tim WA2QAC, April (Secretary), Tony W2BEJ and Denis W1WV. Motion made to accept January's Minutes, the minutes were accepted by all board members.
Treasurer Report:
Checking $1090.23 Petty Cash $69.56 Repeater Fund $222.00 Total $1159.79
Treasurer Report accepted by all board members.
Radio Room ReportLooking for a Radio Room Officer and Committee members for the Radio Room.
Board discussed the following:Coming SMARA Events for the New Year are as follows:
- Spoke about Kids Club getting Badges made for the children that will be coming to the meeting and getting Crystal Radio kits. Meeting will be starting up the end of February. Looking for volunteers to help with kids club.
- Club needs to start working on getting linked up to 440.
- Denis W1WV talked about getting ready for Field Day. There will be a meeting held to discuss options for this day on Feb 22 at 1PM at the Golden Phoenix back room has been reserved.
- Board gave approval for Stormy to use our logo on his website for Pins.
- We are also starting to take Donations for soda and items needed for kids club, field day and the annual picnic. If you know any places that would donate items please let April Chinski (Secretary) Know so she can get a letter out to them.
- 2/12/09 On Air Business Meeting 7:30 PM 146.790
- 2/19/09 SOCIAL MEETING Thursday 7:30 pm at the Schenectady Museum. We will be having potluck; Everyone who wishes to participate must bring a dish to pass. PLEASE email me with what you are bringing if you are coming we want to make sure there is enough for everyone coming. We will have the tip jar out so hopefully we can start bring money in to supply dinner for the club next month.
- 2/22/09 1PM Golden Phoenix in back room will be a gathering for the club members who would like to come and listen and give opinions on how we should precede with Field Day. If you want to eat at the buffet the cost is 11.99 for all you can eat. Please come and give us your ideas.
- 3/7 & 8th weekend in East Greenbush you can sign up to take the class and test for the technicians license cost to you is $25.00. This is a great chance to learn.
