SMARA Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order by President Mike KB2VQS, present were James N2UZQ, Tim WA2QAC, Becky KC2BYZ. Motion made to accept May Minutes, Minutes accepted by all board members.

Treasurer Report:

Checking	$1503.67
Petty Cash	$62.45
Repeater Fund	$222.00
Total	$1566.12

Paid out $128.55 for Field Day t-shirts.
Treasurer Report accepted by all board members.

Radio Room Report

Radio Room in disarray until after field day as computers and radios are going to be used for the event, sorry for the inconvienience.

Board discussed the following:

Field Day 2008. Next Field Day meeting to be at 10:30am Saturday June 7th at the museum in studio 3 (ALL MEMBERS THAT VOLUNTEERED FOR FIELD DAY SHOULD ATTEND THIS MEETING).

Contact our Field Day Chairman James N2UZQ at n2uzq@hotmail.com if you are interested in assisting with Field Day. Also, we will need to have some volunteers to help James N2UZQ take down his military tower for use at field day, Sat. June 21 or rain date Sun June 22. Those who plan to help set up antennas at field day would be preferred to help with take down at James house.

Donations received for field day, water from (Wal-Mart), (CVS) plastic table cloths, Soda from (BJ's), Paper plates, napkins and cups from (Hannaford).

WE ARE AVIDLY ENCOURAGING MEMBERS TO INCLUDE THEIR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS IN PARTICIPATING IN FIELD DAY. Town of Rotterdam has approved the site for Field Day.

News letter will be available soon via the web site called the News Blog. Board discussed removing the SMARA forums due to lack of activity, high maintenance and porn spam. Board agreed to remove the forums and continue to communicate with the membership via the Egroups and email.

Coming SMARA Events are as follows:

• ON AIR BUSINESS MEETING 7:30 PM THURSDAY June 12, 2008 146.790
• SOCIAL MEETING will be at field day Sat June 28 at 12 noon.
• SMARA 2008 Field Day June 28 & 29 Kiwanis Park Rotterdam JCT.
