SMARA Board Meeting Minutes

11/1/07 7:00 pm

Meeting called to order by President Mike KB2VQS, present were James N2UZQ, Tim WA2QAC, Becky KC2BYZ, Tony W2BEJ, and SMARA member April Chinski. Motion made to accept October Minutes, Minutes accepted by all board members.

Treasurer Report:

Checking	$1204.68
Petty Cash	$83.75
Repeater Fund	$222.00
Total	$1288.43

Radio Room Report

Received a large donation of vintage radios. New table to store equipment now in room.

November social meeting is November 15th 2007 7:30 pm Studio 3 Schenectady Museum. We will be having a turkey dinner.

Board discussed the following:

Work party to repair antennas on the small tower at the Museum. Members are encouraged to volunteer. Contact a board member if you can assist. This work is to be done prior to the first snowfall of the season.

Board discussed making arrangements with the Museum and local schools for a voice contact with the ISS or the Space Shuttle during the spring or summer of 2008.

Board discussed Kids Day event in January of 2008.

Board discussed and approved acquiring the proper papers to submit an application with UNIREPCO to have the 146.790 repeater put on the Grafton site, which was voted on and approved by the membership in 2006.

Board discussed ways to get membership more involved in club activities.

Board discussed Field Day 2008

President Mike KB2VQS appointed member April Chinski as communication chairperson to assist the club secretary with communication duties.

On the air meeting Thursday November 8th 2007 7:30 pm on the 146.790 repeater.

Coming SMARA Events are as follows:

• December Christmas party December 20th 2007. We will be having a ham dinner. Speaker will be the Schenectady Museum Director who will be speaking about the new Museum location and the inclusion of the club in this building. Members are encouraged to attend.

Members are reminded to pay their dues prior to January 1st 2008.
