SMARA Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order by President Mike KB2VQS, present were James N2UZQ, Tim WA2QAC, April (Secretary), and Becky KC2BYZ. Motion made to accept November Minutes, Minutes accepted by all board members.

Petty Cash $69.56
Repeater Fund $222.00
Total $1392.91

SMARA Last Years Business: Last years business was discussed board was happy with the results kids day, field day, Public Service Events, and the End of the year Dinner.

Board discussed the following:
  • Watch for an email coming your way. If your club dues are past due you will be getting a friendly reminder. All dues will be owed by Jan 1st to stay active in SMARA.
  • Inventory of Radio room will start on December 7th.
  • James N2UZQ will be purchasing a licensing book ( for Training Classes ) the training classes will start in January after kids club meeting.
  • Briefly talked about Field Day 2009- looking for someone who would like to chair next years event.
Coming SMARA Events for the New Year are as follows:

  • 12/11/08 On Air Business Meeting 7:30 PM 146.790
  • 12/18/08 SOCIAL MEETING Thursday 7:30 pm at the Schenectady Museum. We will be having potluck; this is our annual Holiday party theme. Everyone who wishes to participate must bring a dish to pass. PLEASE email me with what you are bringing if you are coming WE WILL NEED A HEAD COUNT.
  • 12/19/08 tentatively there will be a field trip of around 19 children coming from Washington County to view the radio room and see how it is used. Volunteers are needed this is an all day event. If you can spare an hour or two that would be helpful. Please email Mike Maloy at kb2vqs@yahoo.com if you can help out.
  • January 1st is the Board Meeting if you want anything brought up to the board please contact April Chinski via email by December 30th.
  • January 3rd KIDS DAY 10 is set up. If you will be volunteering your time please contact Mike Maloy at kb2vqs@yahoo.com with the times you have available.
  • January 17th and 18th- ARRRL- January VHF Sweepstakes.
  • January 24th 12-1pm KIDS CLUB INFORMATIONAL MEETING.
